It’s always a huge honor when a photographer asks you to take their family photos – especially when you love their work. Talk about being nervous, but exciting nonetheless. Ashely of Ashley McComb Photography and her family had a beautiful sunset session off of a walking path on the Texas A&M Corpus Christi walking trail. It’s a few minutes walk after parking, but her husband was a rock star and carried a bench for me, while her kids ran circles around us. I don’t think there is anything more hilarious than two school-aged brothers. Add a dash of precious with baby girl, and it’s the perfect set up for family pictures.
While the session was pretty close to perfect, we had a couple of devastating setbacks even scheduling the session. Ashley’s family lost a huge part of their family in the Wimberly flood a couple of months back. At the funerals, the ceremonies were decorated with family pictures that Ashley had taken for their family, and it made her so happy that they had those pictures. She knew that family pictures were going to be a priority for her and wanted them done even more so than before.
And it’s so true, isn’t it? One moment can take away the people or person you love the most in this world, and I really do believe that having pictures becomes absolutely priceless.
Thank you, Ashley, for the opportunity to photograph you and your family!
